Perfect display: This slim line personal automobile navigation device has 4.8" widescreen display. The touch screen which has utilised TFT technology can show 32768 colours helping you to view ‘near to reality’ images. It has the monitor format 16:9 and has a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. 2D and 3D display mode are possible and can show Dynamic Route Information with map. The anti finger-print coating and anti glare coating on the screen gives better quality to the image view. Auto Dimmer Function Day Night Mode makes a clear view possible in all conditions.
Most convenient device: It is the most convenient one as it has the option for Route Recalculation. Gesture command can be given to the device. FM Antenna Input for RDS–TMC is an added advantage in Sony NV-U83 Satellite Navigation System. TMC delivers real-time traffic information and therefore no more worries about the rules in the unfamiliar place. This helps a lot for optimum route planning but requires optional cradle NVA-CU5T. Availability of Bluetooth allows hand free calling with the built-in microphone. There is a built-in Acceleration Sensor as well as a Pressure Sensor in this device. The built-in GPS antenna supports SiRF III receiver that receives signals from the satellite effectively.
This GPS system has 18 pre-installed languages including Czech, Danish, and Dutch; English both UK and US, Finnish, Flemish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. Multi language Voice guidance is available too. While searching for address and Point of Interests, alphabetical selection provides better convenience. Searching based on Post codes can also be done.
Memory: With a built-in Flash memory of 512MB it also allows memory expansion with Memory Stick Slot. PC Interfaces are USB 2.0 and Bluetooth Wireless Technology. Another advantage is the previous destination memory. The phonebook memory can store up to 500 numbers.
Power: This Sony GPS System is equipped with a rechargeable Li-Ion Battery which has a capacity of 1200mAh. It promises 2 hours battery life. Power requirement for the device for normal functioning is 5V DC. Approximate Current consumption is 0.4A approximately.
This portable navigation device has a very convenient dimension approximately (mm) 145 x 87 and weighs 250g.
