Exclusively designed for marine use, the Garmin GPSMAP 420 GPS System comes with dimensions of Width 5.7 in, Depth 2.7 in and Height 5 in and weighs just 1.3lbs. Impressive in its grey finish, this GPS system features an in built colour LCD display that has 4” size and supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Rugged and durable, it is made of ABS plastic and has a sturdy casing. Besides, it is waterproof, being compatible to IPX7 standard.
This GPS system comes with 12 channel receiver and is WAAS enabled and DGPS ready. It features 2D / 3D map perspective, alarm and optional external GPS antenna connection. Offering effective navigation, it supports up to 1500 waypoints, 10000 track log points and 20 navigation tracks. It is integrated with a trip computer that shows TracBack, Sun/moon positions and Sunrise/sunset times. The acquisition times of this system are 45 sec (cold) and 15 sec (warm).
In addition, it has an integrated antenna and a connector provided for it. It supports SD memory card and the compatible GPS software is BlueChart g2 Vision. Besides, it comes with UPS, UTM, Lat/Lon, Loran TDs and Maidenhead grids. The update rate of this GPS system is 1/second. Additional features of this device include ability to add maps, tide tables, Sonar compatible, CANet® compatible, AIS (tracks target ships’ position) support, DSC support and audible alarms.
Powered externally, the supported minimum and maximum operating temperatures are
5° F and 131° F respectively. The accessories supplied with Garmin GPSMAP 420 Marine GPS System include mounting bracket, power/data cable and protective cover.
