Garmin GPSMAP 172 Marine GPS System makes navigation to your favourite destinations 
offshore or inland easy and effective. This easy to use GPS system measures 6.2 x 3.7 x 4.8 inches and weighs 17.0 oz. It requires acquisition time of 45 sec in cold and 15 sec in warm ambiances. This fully-featured marine GPS system comes with a 4.5 inches LCD of 320 x 320 pixels resolution and user friendly interface.
This 12 channels GPS system comes bundled with worldwide marine basemap and is compatible with MapSource BlueChart software. It supports SBAS WAAS and the unit is DGPS ready. It offers 15 metres accuracy position and 0.05 m/sec velocity. The featured grids include UPS, MGRS, UTM, Lat/Lon, Loran TDs and Maidenhead. Interfaces available are NMEA 0183 and RTCM SC-104 DGPS.
Tide Tab and MOB are the GPS functions. The unit features 3000 Waypoints, 15 Navigation tracks, 10000 Tracklog points, 50 Navigation routes and 50 Waypoints per route. The trip computer displays Average speed, Trip distance, TracBack, Trip timer and Maximum speed.
