The device that supports 7 digit post code search gives street level coverage of the whole of the UK along with all major roads of Europe. It has approximately 200 MB of internal memory for storage of additional maps, your choice of MP3 songs and audio books. The memory is expandable, having a SD memory card expansion slot. It can store up to 500 waypoints and has an extensive Points of Interest (POI) database for finding petrol stations/hotels/car parks/restaurants etc when in unfamiliar locations.
The Garmin Nuvi 310T Satellite Navigation System comes with a 3.5” bright antiglare TFT display, offering a large viewing space with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It has a QVGA type display that shows 64K colours with touch capability. The device comes in dimensions of the 9.83 x 7.39 x 2.21cms. It weighs just 144.6gms. A rechargeable Li-ion battery with life of around 4 to 8 hours, gives you the ability to go for long rides. The device supports Bluetooth for hands-free calling and has a Garmin Lock, an antitheft measure. It also has a built in microphone along with speaker and headphone slots.
It offers accuracy up to 10m and takes 38 seconds to acquire target when its cold (just turned ON) and 1 second when warm (turned ON for sometime) and has an update rate of 1/sec.2D or 3D map perspectives can be obtained easily. Customised alerts like speed zones, safety cams can be uploaded via the USB slot provided. It supports FM TMC traffic alerting with a high sensitivity 12 channel traffic receiver. This GPS system also features voice navigation instructions and gives voice prompts. The device supports a variety of routing (faster time, shorter distance, off road), re-routing (fast off-route and detour recalculation) and route avoidance (avoid highways, tolls etc.) setups. It comes preloaded with a Travel Kit; comprising of MP3 player with sample MP3s, audio books, picture viewer, world clock, currency and measurement converters, calculator and more.
