Garmin has introduced the new Garmin Fishfinder 140 GPS
System which comes with a 4.7 inch display screen of resolution 128 x 240 pixels resolution. It has dimensions of 15.5 x 12.5 x 6.6 cm and weighs about 530g. This is a waterproof device that is used to locate fish at the middle of the sea. The images are displayed in 4-level greyscale.
The features of this device start with audible alarms and dual-beam sonar that are used to locate fishes. Alarms indicate the fish size, shallow water, deep water and at low battery situations. The battery voltage is also indicated by the device. Ultrascroll™ and See-thru technology implemented in this device helps to locate fishes and fish targets, at higher boat speeds and those under cover. Fish Symbol ID also helps in identifying the fish targets. AutoGain Technology minimizes clutters and maximizes targets and the Whiteline feature indicates whether the bottom of sea is hard or soft.
This GPS system supports dual beam frequencies of 80/200 kHz, has a transmitting power of 100W RMS and 800W peak to peak and requires a voltage range of 10-18V DC. It has the capability to locate targets up to a depth of 600 ft. Its cone angle is 45° or 15°. It supports 2x and 4x automatic zoom as well as manual zooming.
